Family is the Reason

As some of you are aware, I have recently come back from a trip to Disneyland- A magical place where it almost seem that peoples ages reverse, people are brought together, and families can just enjoy themselves.
Something you will notice about the rides in the greater Disney area is that they are 'all inclusive'. This means that adults and kids alike can ride most if not all the rides together. the few that break this rule (Star Tours, Indiana Jones, etc.) were added much later, and even the height requirements on those rides are relatively low.

When you enter the park you see a statue of Walt Disney holding Mickey's hand. below the statue is a quote from Walt that reads:  "I think most of all what I want Disneyland to be is a happy place...where parents and children can have fun...together.".  this is done by design. The story goes that Walt had the idea to create Disneyland when he took his daughters to an amusement park and either they couldn't do a ride or he couldn't. Very few rides were set up in such a way that they could do them together.
So Walt worked to create Disneyland as a place where families can spend some quality vacation time together.
In the book of First Nephi, in the first verse, Nephi makes it a priority to mention that he came from goodly parents, and I imagine that in Jerusalem his family was quite happy and close. I dare say it's that closeness that got even Laman and Lemuel to go into the wilderness with the family.
in this upcoming week, may we do the things that will bring our families closer together. our families can bring us the greatest joy that we can ever experience in our lives and we can be reminded of that as we do things together.
I leave this with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
