Saturday Showdown- Wonder Woman v Thor

With the approach of two movies coming out all about fighting each other (#TeamSuperman #TeamSpiderman) lets hit up a versus battle between the two. Ready, set,

Wonder Woman vs. Thor

Both are considered deity by mortals of yesteryear. Both have walked with gods as well as demons. Both are powerful beyond idea. So let’s hop to this:

Wonder Woman

Name: Diana Prince

Base of operations: New York City, Themyscira, Justice League Watch Tower

Arsenal: Magic Lasso of truth, bullet deflecting Armor, superhuman strength and superior tactics training from the god of war himself: Ares.

Background: When WWII broke out in man’s world, the amazons of Themyscira did what they could to stay out. A pilot by the name of Steve Trevor crashed on the island and was given medical care by these Amazons. Wanting to keep an eye and Steve as well as create good public relations, the amazons elected to have an ambassador selected. Diana, the princess was sent to America as ambassador. She took the last name “prince” to keep out of the lime light and the name “wonder woman” to pass a message. Since WWII she has kept her promise to protect man’s world from threats both domestic and mystical.

Thor:

Real Name: Thor

Base of operations: Avengers Mansion, New York City, Asgard

Arsenal: magic Hammer blessed with the powers of the Odensphere.

Background: Thor was worshipped for centuries on earth and held in high regard as the “god of thunder”. Having been banished due to reckless behavior in Asgard, Thor had to learn what it meant to be worthy to gain his power back, Thor chose to stay on earth to protect it from those who would try to cause it harm.

The battle:

For centuries, Oden and Zeus have been duking it out over who had dominion and control over Midguard. Each sending their champions to fight and prove who had the stronger warrior and who would continue to rule Midguard. Zeus had his champions in Hercules, Achilles, but none of these held a candle to the might of Thor.

Eventually Zeus gave up and yielded control to Oden, But immortality has a constant companion named boredom.

Heimdall, the Guardian of the Gates from Asgard to Earth, gazed at earth with his all-seeing eyes to see something very interesting, a woman with the strength of 100 men walked about man’s world. She was not Oden’s. Heimdall passed the message on to oden, who in his fury at Zeus for breaking the truce, sent his champion Thor to earth to defeat this Woman of Wonder.

Thor landed with a thud, earthquakes from the impact shattered the windows of the buildings in Times Square. People scattered away from the streets while simultaneously grabbing their smart phones to record what was happening.

“There is one here who is a champion of the Amazons. Have her step forth!”

“Gladly!”

Wonder woman glided down to the earth like the angel so many of her admirer’s claim she is.

“Always a pleasure to meet a fellow warrior. What brings you here?”

Thor responds to her question with a swift hit to the Jaw with his Hammer.

“Oden desires Midguard for his rule and protection. He needs no help from you and your kind. I have taken down Zeus mightiest Warriors. I will defeat you too. Yield!”

Wonder woman struck downwards with her sword but Thor caught the blade squarely on the Asgardian metal handle to his hammer.

“Impressive” remarked Thor. “You may after all be worthy of the great honor of fighting Thor, the god of thunder”.

With that, clouds gathered and darkened the surrounding area, turning the mid-morning light into mid evening darkness. Thunder crashed as thunder struck within the clouds above.

Wonder Woman seized the opportunity to strike. She jumped over Thor to get behind him and made a strike to his left arm, cutting him in the process.

“Amazing” said Thor. “You cut me with thy weapon. Thou art truly a wondrous woman.”

Thor grabbed the leather strap of the hammer, flung it around and used the momentum of the hammer to fly up to a nearby rooftop.

“Let us see if thou canst defend against this. Have at thee!” Thor launches himself and his hammer at Wonder Woman. She puts up her arms and braces for impact. Wonder Woman blocked the impact with her magic arm braces. Time seemed to stop momentarily as the shockwave from the impact tore down the buildings on either side of them.

Both the demigods are now dazed. Using the last of his energy, Thor raised his hammer to the sky. The lightning and thunder in the sky increased and gathered above the warriors. Wonder Woman looks up and places her arm braces into defense position. Thor hurled the lightning towards Wonder Woman.

The smoke cleared. The onlookers gathered to see what had happened. Thor was exhausted. One knee to the ground and wonder woman laying beat in a crater. Thor stood and picked up Wonder Woman’s sword.

“For Oden!” shouted Thor. He swung his hammer and flew off into the distance.
