Saturday Showdown
On my path to Dawn of Justice, every theory Thursday,
Saturday Showdown, and some special features will be leading up to the release
of the movie. The Theory Thursday after I see the movie will be my thoughts and
ideas on where they could go with the film.
Today: Batman V Spider-Man
Batman:
Bio: after witnessing the death of his beloved parents at
the tender age of 8 (or 12. Depends on who you ask) Bruce Wayne dedicated
himself to finding the identity of his parents killer (did he ever do it?
Depends on who you ask). After years of training his body and mind, Bruce Wayne
protects the innocent of his city as Batman!
Arsenal: armed to the teeth with gadgets ranging from
explosive gel to shark repellant. Multiple vehicles to get around with, a
snazzy butler who knows everything.
Base of operations: Justice League watch tower, Gotham City.
Spider-man
Bio: when Peter Parker was bit by a radio-active spider, he
found it as his opportunity to strike it rich. After a wrestling match (or an
appearance on the Ed Sullivan show, or chocolate milk) a thief ran past Peter
when Peter had the ability to stop him. Later it was that thief that killed his
Uncle Ben (who is the closest thing Peter ever had to a father, unless his
father is still alive. Somehow.) Now Peter uses his powers to fight crime and
defend the innocent.
Arsenal: natural powers of wall clinging, enhanced strength,
speed, and agility, premonitions (Spider-Sense) and web shooters (organic?
Mechanical? Who knows?)
Base of operations: New York City
The battle:
The street lights barely gave enough light to see. This was
a chronic problem with the lights in this part of New York. Spider-man didn’t
mind that, but he was concerned about the criminal activity in this neighborhood.
His uncle’s killer had his operations based out of this neighborhood and he
intends to clean it out.
"AAAAGH"!
Spider-man heard the man’s screams from a couple blocks
away. Time to investigate. In record time, Spider-man made it to the scene and
what he saw surprised him. The man that screamed was passed out, and standing
above him was a man in some kind of vampire costume. A quick tap of Spider-man’s
web shooters and the supposed culprit was caught.
“I’m sorry to burst your bubble count, but Halloween was
like 7 months ago, or your five months early. Either way.”
“What you think you see is not what’s happening.” Said the
batman
“Let’s see… Scary person, scared person, sarcastic person…
yeah, this has all your makings of a fishy situation” said Spider-man
“This guy is all problem. My Spider sense is going crazy
against this guy. Better keep a safe distance.” Thought Spider-man.
“Here, let me just put you in a nice web cocoon and let’s
see if the nice guys in the police costumes can help you out bud”
“I don’t think so. The police is a place I only want to
visit on my own terms.” Said batman. At that moment, Batman breaks a canister
on his belt, releasing a gas that dissolved the webbing.
“Oh boy, this guy is going to be trouble” thought spider-man
“Ooh, good trick! I’ll admit that, but let’s see if you can
do any more cool stuff!” spider-man gives himself a front flip and rockets
towards batman feet first, looking for his foot to hit Batman’s face.
“You talk too much” batman grabs Spider-man’s leg and, using
Spider-man’s own momentum, throws the scarlet Webster into the ground below.
Batman gave a kick to Spider-man than an over the head flip back onto the pavement.
Batman tries that move again, that was a mistake.
“Yep, let’s not do that again. That tickled a bit the last
time.” Spider-man spring-loads his web strand, catapulting him into the air. A thin
web strand then hits Batman’s chest, pulling him into the air.
“Alright now see, I have the proportionate strength of a
spider as well as its agility. Notice how the air doesn’t effect me much.” Said
spider-man as he was punching and kicking Batman.
“Bats can fly.” Batman then pulls his cape up, putting him
above spider-man, then he let go and double kicked spider-man to the ground. Batman
then drops on the ground next to him and throws a gas bomb. Batman shoots his
grapple to a nearby building and chills there. Spider-man is on the wall next
to him.
“Saw that coming.” Said spider-man
“I know” responded Batman.
Batman’s gauntlet shown blue with electric current against
the metal on the corner of the building, electrifying Spider-man and sending
him to the ground unconscious.
“That was a shocking experience. I can do quips too.” Batman
then drives off to the next Job.
Winner: Batman
Agree? Disagree? Fight about it in the comments. Incidentally,
this one was really close. We might need a re-match sometime… what do you
think?
