Move Forward. life is too fast to look behind. |
There is an advantage to moving swiftly. You can’t look
behind you, your peripheral is blurred. The only thing you have going for you
is what is directly in front. You see what kinds of things are getting in your
way and you adjust, all the while moving towards the horizon. When you are
moving slowly, you see the things to the side of you, you also are able to turn
around and look at what was behind.
An interesting thing happens when you look behind you; you
are no longer able to wee whats coming up ahead.
Some people get so caught up in the past that they forget
where they are going. They keep looking at things as they might have been
rather than stand and face their giants today. They live with regret, with
remorse, with longing and some even with delusion.
"She Certainly Had Plenty of Salt for her pretzels"- Jeffery R. Holland |
Lot had a wife. This was bible times so lot was not the most
modern person yet in his case it’s probably ok. Lot lived in the area of Sodom and Gomorrah. Those cities were sinning against God and God was going to destroy the cities. Lot was told to leave Sodom and
Gomorrah and was told to not look behind him. Lot took his family and his wife
and left the city. As they were leaving, Lot’s wife looked behind her and
turned into a pillar of salt. I like to think that the camel wen’t up to the
salt pillar that was lots wife and licked it.
Wherever you are headed will always be better than where you
left, as long as you look forward. Don’t be one of those people that sit around
and only talk about the old times. Always move forward.
