Spiritual Sunday: Your plan and God's Plan

Ever since its creation in 1997, DreamWorks animation has been chasing after the tail of Pixar animation Studios. Quite often, DreamWorks would hear about a story that Pixar is doing and then steal it, some movies were not the case though. One such movie that was original to DreamWorks animation is “The Road to El Dorado”.

"I am Miguel, and this is Tulio, together
they call us 'Miguel and Tulio'"
The premise of the movie is that two hustlers, Miguel and Tulio, find themselves in the city of gold. They somehow get the city to believe that they are gods and plan to steal all the gold they can and escape in a boat. The king of El Dorado pointed out that the ancient prophesies of their people say that the gods will stay 1000 years. Miguel then says “well, yes, but… um… there is… your plan, and then there is the gods plan”.

When we keep the commandments of God, sometimes we get a feeling of entitlement. It is no secret that any time we keep the commandments, God gives us a blessing. For some, that blessing is something easy to see and observe, others not so much.

The path you plan to go on may not be the one that God has planned.
I’m not above saying that I have been guilty of this before. Sometimes things will not be going the way I would think they are and I would just have to ask “why is it not happening the way it should? Am I doing something wrong?”  That’s when we need to remember that there is God’s plan, and there is your plan.

This upcoming week, let’s try to remember that when we keep the commandments, we will be blessed; God will bless us the way he sees fit. The thing we have to do is just keep going. Keep working, keep praying. God has our best interests at heart, and sometimes the place that he sees we need to go is not the place we thought we would see us in. keep doing the right thing. Roll with punches, keep living. You never know what the tide might bring in.

I invite everyone who see's this to remember the victims and their families/ friends who are effected by the Orlando shooting in your prayers.
