Saturday Showdown.
Queen Elsa v. Frozone
Snow and ice powers are rather popular in movies and
superhero fame, from the X-Men to… the… X-Men again…. List more ice power-wielding
people in the comments!
But who is better at their job? Welcome to Saturday showdown.
Elsa:
Real name: Queen Elsa (no last name is known at this time).
Arsenal: an ever growing list of power, starting with Ice
powers as seen in the Disney movie “Frozen”.
Bio: one fateful night, Elsa was woken up by her younger
sister Anna, who wanted to build a snowman in the middle of summer because Elsa
had ridiculous magic ice powers. An accident during the playtime caused Elsa
and Anna’s kind parents to abandon all their original concepts of good
parenting in favor of locking both their daughters in a nasty castle with no
friends and minimal staff. Elsa eventually breaks out and learns how to control
her magic ice powers through her emotions.
Frozone
Real Name: Lucius Best
Arsenal: scientifically acquired superpowers, including
slightly enhanced strength, faster vision and brain function, and water and
temperature manipulation.
Bio: it is commonly believed that the government, in an
effort to find new crime fighting techniques created the Superhero program,
where select individuals would go through a biogenetic process where a
recessive, dormant gene would be activated to give certain individuals
superpowers. Lucius was activated with ice powers and became Frozone. Having been
un-fulfilled with his job as a hot dog salesman, Lucius tried to enter the Olympics
as Frozone but was rejected based on his unique biological enhancement. He now lives
in the city with his wife (the greatest good he’s ever gonna get).
The battle:
A frantic news reporter struggles against a torrential wind as
she dutifully reports the news of the day
“A gigantic worm hole has opened up in down town, while cars
and public property is being pulled into one end, all that is coming out of the
other end is a blizzard. Thankfully it’s after work hours so most people are at
their homes and away from the down town business district.”
Frozone shoots a flurry of cold wind towards the air in front
of himself, creating a temporary sidewalk of ice that he skates across. Frozone
burrows his head down and ski’s right into the vortex.
On the other side of the vortex, Frozone finds himself in a
place with strange geography. On the valley there is a bright and sunny summer
celebration, but just a short distance away from the village is the coldest
place he has seen, along with a majestic castle. A swirling storm surrounds the
castle and Frozone goes to check it out.
In the castle, Elsa has just finished fighting with Anna. She
goes into her royal chamber in her ice castle and shakes with a silent rage
over the exchange with her sister.
Frozone has traveled to the castle made completely out of
ice and he is very impressed. This type of ice manipulation must have taken
years to master. He travels through the castle, marveling at the intricacies
and the masterwork of the palace. He notices a closed door, and a silhouette
behind it. Frozone approaches the door.
The door clicks open
“Get OUT!” shouts Elsa as she shoots off a bolt of ice in
the direction of the door. Frozone, momentarily caught off guard catches the
ice shard, and throws it back. Elsa puts up an ice shield that blocks the bolt.
Frozone then pulls out the skates built into his boots, skates along the
circular wall as he throws massive amounts of ice and snow balls at Elsa. Elsa,
sick of taking crap from Frozone, puts her hands to the air, a mass of cold
wind and snowflakes burst from her hands towards Frozone, completely enchasing
him in ice.
Elsa takes several steps back. She is starting to turn into the
monster that the people of Arendelle were afraid she would be come. The ice
around Frozone starts to shake. It cracks, it explodes into hundreds of ice
shards. Elsa forms a knight’s shield of ice to hide behind. Frozone clicks his
boots once more to form his circular sled. He pulls it up into shield position.
Simultaneously, Frozone and Elsa take defensive position and shoot sharpened
shards at each others shield. Frozone, having been trained as a superhero,
knows all the weak parts of a shield such as this and is actively hitting
those. Elsa’s shield begins to crack and snap. She conjures a wave of snow at Frozone,
then tears the room apart, using the pieces to encase Frozone in a giant snow
ball, then roll him off the cliff.
Coolly, she rebuild the room.
Winner: Elsa
Epilogue: Frozone breaks out of the snowball, deciding that
this fight was not his to fight, skis down the mountain towards the worm hole. Once
through back to the city, Frozone hits the circular sides of the portal with
his powers and shrinks the wormhole into nothing.
